Loch Broom Skiff Regatta 2014
A selection of snaps from the weekend have been posted to Flickr.
The Loch Broom leg of the St Ayles Skiff racing Calendar will take place over the extended Weekend of 11th to 13th July 2014.
After the success of the St Ayles Skiff World Championships in Ullapool last year the format for this years regatta will be very similar with the main 2k races run in individual lanes across to turning marks on the Altnaharrie side of the loch and back to the finish line in front of the beach giving great spectator appeal.
Participants will be coming from the many communities involved in building and rowing these graceful boats. We hope to see some of the new rowing groups who have been busy building since the Worlds as well as many old friends.
This page will be updated as we resolve the detail of the weekends activities. Once we finalize things various documents relating to the safety and organisation of the races will be posted here so keep checking back. In the meantime the official ‘notice of race’ may be found here or at the top of the page.
Our Regatta is taking place in peak tourist season and we strongly advise (can’t emphasise that enough) making your campsite or other accommodation booking as early as possible. Ullapool is small enough to run out of space in peak season so finding somewhere for Rowers and Camp followers in the village may be very difficult at short notice.
