Splash Day
Friday 21st may 2010 saw ‘Ulla’ take to the water in a boatbuilders launch, no speechifying, BBQ’s or plonk for us – we will do something more flamboyant once the signwriter has applied her name. A small selection of snaps from the occasion follow.
- Topher – who pretty well built the boat
- Adrian, our leader without whose drive this boat wouldn’t have materialised
- Sue – the first our thirty quid rowers
- John – who generously gave up his part of the cowshed so the build could happen
- now isn’t that pretty
And for some idea of her grace in action some moving images
Maiden voyage – pretty good synchronicity considering this was the first time.
And after a few minutes practice.
The home run

Beautiful photos of a great boat. I hope she wins every trophy going!

Actually, if I ruled the world and had my non-competitive, they’d all win all the trophies
I think we all win with such a community building effort as this, Gav.
It’s a thrill to see these boats turning out so beautifully and with such enthusiasm. Makes me wish I was there.
